UW Oshkosh Budget Update
As anticipated, Gov. Walker’s budget proposal includes a $300 million cut for the UW System as well as a reduction in our cost to continue. This budget cut is significant and will present real challenges to our campus in the years ahead. I share with you the following statement from UW System President Ray Cross in addition to a release from the University of Wisconsin Student Representatives:

We began our work to manage these cuts with Budget Town Hall Forums, and the week of Feb. 16 began a series of Chancellor Breakfast Forums where we are continuing the discussion and dialogue. While the budget cut news is understandably concerning to the entire campus community, we must preserve our focus on student success while we, together, look for new and innovative ways to operate. I welcome the opportunity to work with faculty, staff and students as we move our university forward during these challenging times.
